The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment used in renewable and energy-efficiency projects.
The role will support the safe and reliable delivery of electrical installations across solar energy systems, commercial and residential electrical works, energy equipment, and related sustainable-energy projects. The ideal candidate should be practical, detail-oriented, comfortable working in the field, and committed to electrical safety and quality standards.

As an Electrician, you will work alongside technicians, engineers, project teams, and customers to install and maintain electrical systems that support clean and reliable energy solutions.
Your work may include electrical wiring, distribution systems, control panels, solar photovoltaic (PV) installations, batteries and related equipment, fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and commissioning activities.
You will be expected to interpret electrical drawings and technical instructions, use electrical testing equipment correctly, identify faults efficiently, and ensure that all work is completed safely and to the required technical standards.
The position involves field-based work and may require travel to customer sites, project locations, construction sites, and other areas where the company delivers sustainable energy solutions.
Responsibilities
- Install, wire, test, commission, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of solar PV systems and other renewable-energy equipment.
- Install and connect electrical distribution boards, circuit breakers, switches, sockets, lighting systems, and related components.
- Carry out electrical inspections, testing, fault finding, and troubleshooting.
- Diagnose electrical faults and perform corrective repairs in a safe and efficient manner.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical installations and equipment.
- Support the installation, testing, and maintenance of batteries, inverters, charge controllers, and associated energy-system components where required.
- Ensure electrical installations are properly earthed, protected, labelled, and safely commissioned.
- Use electrical testing instruments and hand/power tools appropriately.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, maintenance activities, faults, and repairs.
- Identify defective materials, components, or equipment and report them to the responsible supervisor.
- Follow company procedures, project specifications, electrical safety requirements, and applicable standards.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain safe working practices at all times.
- Participate in site assessments and assist with estimating materials and tools required for electrical work.
- Work closely with engineers, technicians, project managers, contractors, and customers to complete assignments.
- Provide clear explanations to customers regarding basic operation, maintenance, and safe use of installed systems.
- Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas in good working condition.
- Report safety incidents, electrical hazards, equipment failures, and project issues promptly.
- Support commissioning, handover, and after-sales maintenance activities.
- Keep up to date with developments in renewable energy, electrical technology, and energy-efficient systems.
Requirements
- Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Relevant electrical trade certification or recognized professional qualification in Tanzania.
- Valid authorization/licensing to undertake electrical installation work where required by applicable Tanzanian regulations.
- Additional training or certification in solar PV installation will be an advantage.
- Previous experience working as an Electrician, Electrical Technician, or in a related electrical installation role.
- Practical experience with electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Experience with solar PV systems or other renewable-energy technologies is an advantage.
- Experience working on residential, commercial, industrial, or construction sites will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of electrical wiring, protection systems, distribution, and basic electrical controls.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to use electrical testing equipment such as multimeters and other relevant instruments.
- Basic understanding of solar PV systems, inverters, batteries, and energy-storage systems.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of electrical safety and safe working procedures.
